Paul Hunter
Sad news today of the death of Paul Hunter, at the age of 27. Hunter was one of the most promising young snooker players in the country. Before cancer ebbed away his ability, he won the Masters 3 years in a row and would almost certainly have won the world title at some point. Together with being a very fine player, he was, along with Ronnie O'Sullivan, one of the games most notable characters.

I was saddened by this too. 27 is a shockingly young age to die like this. All credit to him for continuing to play tournaments when he was ill.
The game has lost one of its most valuable players. RIP x

Indeed, I was going to write something about this myself. I was shocked when I heard he’d died. I thought he was on the mend. :(
He’ll be fondly remembered.
