Are Nintendo extracting the urine?

This actually got announced last week, but I completely forgot to blog about it. Having been referred to as Revolution for a while now, Nintendo have decided on the official name for the successor to the Gamecube. It is to be called Wii (pronounced ‘we’).

Just a bit odd I thought. Does Nintendo know that in Britain ‘wee’ is slang for urine or piss? And more to point, who is going to tell them?

I know my friends ands I will still be calling it the revolution for ever more :)

Or should I say wii’ll keep calling it a revolution.

I think it’s a very clever marketing move by Nintendo; it’s certainly got everyone talking about it. Some are even suggesting that it’s a publicity stunt and it won’t be called ‘Wii’ at all.

I think this strange name is a similar move to their radical one-handed controller. and whether they succeed or fail with the ‘Wii’, fairplay to them for trying to do something different.
