Boot Camp
I have become a destroyer of worlds. Or something like that. Apple has released details of Boot Camp, an application built into OS X 10.5 (Leopard, grrr), which allows you to (legally) boot your Intel Mac in Windows XP. Essentially, the app creates a partition on your Mac and a CD full of all the drivers you need to run XP on a Mac.
Helpfully, the page on the Apple website also clears up some questions you might have about running Windows :
Windows running on a Mac is like Windows running on a PC. That means it’ll be subject to the same attacks that plague the Windows world. So be sure to keep it updated with the latest Microsoft Windows security fixes.
Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries.
Ooh... handbags at dawn. Apple already seems to have set it’s stall out in the fight against Vista.

Well..... After reading many threads about the problems associated with Boot Camp and the fact it is a 'beta', I have decided to leave it until the new version OS/X is released.
"Scaredy cat" eh?

I updated the firmware and version of OS/X today on my Mac Intel today whilst crossing my fingers. A friend of mine updated the other day and his machine went tits up. Luckily all was well.
I downloaded Boot Camp and must say that the whole process was very civilised and user-friendly. I am however in two minds about whether to violate my Mac with Windows. I have been a Windows/PC user for XX years and just become a Mac convert.
I have been waiting for iemulator (www.iemulator.com) and according to their email the other day a version for the Mac Intel will be available very soon.
