Prague
We had a great time in Prague over the last few days. If you are vaguely interested in either design, architecture, beer or football then you’ll enjoy the Czech capital. If like me, you enjoy all those things, then Prague is pretty much as good as it gets.
We loved it — filling our days visiting museums and galleries, strolling around the beautiful streets and supping Budvar and Staropramen in the evenings.
I took loads of photos from the trip, a selection of which can be viewed in an album in the photos section. A thoroughly recommended visit.

I spent just half a day in Prague back in 1991, part-way through a student exchange visit. Even that half day was enough to make me think it was the most beautiful city I’d ever seen. Your photos are making me think it’s about time I went back. :)

It’s well worth going back Mal. I got a cheap flight from EasyJet so you’re only really looking at getting some cash together for accomodation. Eating and drinking is still very cheap (about 50p for a large beer!). The only downside is that it can get quite busy with tourists - it’s no longer a well kept secret!

Welcome back.. don’t suppose you brought back details of a pub in the Northeast that has Staropramen or Budvar on tap? ;)

I have particularly fond memories of Prague, since that is where I met my wife. We were both inter-railing and stayed at the same pension. 12 years later, here we are. Smashing. Great place. Off to Ljubljana in June, which according to the Sunday supplements is the ‘new Prague’. Should be fun..;

Andrew, the Head of Steam (opposite Central Station) has Staropramen on tap... unfortunately not at 50p a pint :(

I seem to remember the new World HQ having Budvar on tap... (or maybe I just dreamt it...)

I visited Prague in February 2004 for a couple of days and wished we had stayed longer. Too much to see and not enough time.
A beautiful city immersed in so much history. A fine time was had by all... the beer was bloody cheap too.
The only down side to the visit was the delay in the flight back by Easy Jet. 2.5 hours worth and no explanation.

50p a pint? I seem to recall it being twice that in '91... but only in Prague. In the surrounding countryside, where we spent the other 2 weeks, it was as little as 4p a pint. Nice. :)
