Teflon Tony

This week was meant to be Tony Blairís toughest as prime minister, but, in true Teflon Tony style, heís come through it totally unscathed.

After an unexpected and narrow win in yesterdays vote to increase university fees, heís also come out of the Hutton Report whiter than a very very white thing. How does he do it?

Meanwhile, expect heads to roll at the BBC after they were severely criticised ó

...in the very unusual and specific circumstances relating to Mr Gilliganís broadcasts, the Governors are to be criticised for themselves failing to make more detailed investigations into whether this allegation reported by Mr Gilligan was properly supported by his notes and for failing to give proper and adequate consideration to whether the BBC should publicly acknowledge that this very grave allegation should not have been broadcast.

Chairman Gavyn Davies has already quit, and I wouldnít expect the big cheese, Greg Dyke, to hold out for much longer.

Or as Greg Dyke would say: Heads will woll.

It’s all fixed. Did anyone *really* expect the Government to come out of this smelling badly?

It’s quite funny, yet sad, that the BBC today are all "Do you still trust the BBC? If not, what can it (we?) do to regain your trust?" hand-wringing nonsense.

I trust the BBC more than I trust the government...

If you’re anything like me, that’s not saying much.
