Sixth Rock from the Sun
NASA’s Cassini spacecraft sent back some stunning photographs of Saturn this weekend. The image shown was taken 69 million miles from the planet and shows features in the rings and atmosphere, as well as 5 of Saturn’s moons.
By July next year the spacecraft will begin a 4 year orbit of the planet, then release a smaller probe to descend onto the surface of Titan.
Judging by the quality of this photograph, I can’t wait to see more as Cassini gets closer and closer. Makes you feel a wee bit insignificant...
