Rebirth of Boom

The news of Yahoo’s $1.6bn purchase of Overture caught my attention the other day. There’s a number of reasons for this.

Firstly, any internet business deal with that many zeros in it is very much a rarity these days - the dot-com bubble having well and truly burst 2 years ago. It’s also come on the heels of other dot-com businesses (eBay, Amazon and Google) announcing increased profits and upturns in their fortunes.

I hope I don’t jinx it by saying it out loud, but, are we seeing a resurgence of finance in the internet industry?
