Bobby eyes Bowyer

Those Newcastle United fans concerned about Jonathan Woodgate’s dodgy past when he signed for them earlier this year had better sit down. Fellow race relations officer, Lee Bowyer, is expected to sign a 5 year contract today.

Puzzling is not the word here. One area of the team where Newcastle don’t need strengthening is in midfield, and surely the prospect of Bowyer and Woodgate rampaging through Newcastle’s Quayside on a Saturday night is too frightening to contemplate. I suspect most Toon fans will be hoping that Bobby Robson knows something most of us don’t.

This particular Toon fan is just hoping it’s an old story left over from April 1st. I really don’t want scum like him in our squad. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him denounce racism or deny that he’s racist himself. At least Woodgate repented.

Couldn’t agree more, what on earth is Sir Bobby up to? I’m hoping it’s a scare story put out by upset Sunderland fans.
