The Burning Issue
Working on the assumption that the tabloid newspapers are the voice of popular opinion, it strikes me that we have a pretty messed up set of priorities. Ignoring the not-insignificant debate about whether or not we should be going to war with Iraq, what would you think gets the most coverage in today’s press? 21 people being crushed in a stampede at a nightclub in Chicago? 100 people being killed in a fire in a South Korean subway? Nope, the cut above David Beckham’s eye. Eh?
