Spoiled

This week is a pretty good one for new record releases - new long-players by Death in Vegas and Underworld and, not one but two, from Frank Black & The Catholics - we are indeed spoiled.

what is the new underworld album like? is it better than beaucoup fish which was a bit patchy. are there better tunes??? as for div - is it uplifting or downbeat and dirgy like contino sessions? let us know so we can spend productively.

Alreet G - Underworld is good, more upbeat than Beaucoup Fish was. Where Beacoup Fish had some hard and fast tracks, A Hundred Days Off is a bit more laid-back and easy-going.

Death in Vegas is excellent - a real range of stuff going on. There are a few ‘dirgy’ tracks and some great collaborations with Liam Gallacher, Paul Weller and Hope Sandoval.

As for Frank Black, I’ve not heard tracks from either album yet, so I can’t really comment - but I’ve read reviews saying that ‘Devil’s Workshop’ is the better of the two.

At the risk of being deemed a little lame, the track from the VW Beetle advert is released this week too - "Strange and Beautiful" by Aqualung (aka Matt Hales from the 45s).
