Angel of the North

I remember someone saying that the Angel of the North is the most visible piece of public art in the UK. Being situated right next to the A1 it’s seen by around 100,000 people every day.
These days, the Angel looks better than ever, having turned a lovely orange/red rusty brown after being exposed to Tyneside weather for nearly 5 years.
One her most famous days came in May 1998, when some Newcastle United fans showed their appreciation by draping her in a 65ft replica of Alan Shearer’s no.9 shirt. Classic.
