SightLight

SightLightGriffin Technology have produced an interesting little attachment for Apple’s iSight webcam. The SightLight is basically a shiny sheath (ahem) which slips over the iSight and provides added illumination for better quality video chats. The power is drawn from the same FireWire cable you use to attach the iSight to your Mac.

I’m a big fan of Griffin’s products. I think they’ve got a good team of industrial designers over there, and are one of the few third-party hardware developers that seem to design and build products with the same care as Apple’s own designers.

While I think it’s a neat idea, something about it scares me... I know how I look in bright, up-close light, and it’s not good.

I would assume 99% of all humans look the same.

True - sometimes the great thing about the web is that you don’t need to worry about how you look ;-)

Incidentally, amusing article on looking good on iChat by the Joy of Tech guys -
