iPod mini Gives Non-Believers the Finger
All of the complaining–the moaning, the crying about the iPod mini being too expensive, not worth it, never gonna sell, piece of junk, what a mistake!, I can’t believe how Apple dropped the ball on this one, et-cetera. And yet.
Apple has received over 100,000 pre-orders for the iPod mini which was introduced last month.*
I think that was the sound of the iPod mini flipping you off. I think.

Sure it may be a toy - but there’s obviously a big (and lucrative) market for it. I think Apple’s marketing dept. have done their homework here. It’ll sell skip-loads in the same way that Canon sell loads of their little jewellery-like coloured Digital Ixus cameras for a similar price to the bigger, higher-spec’d models.
Garrett– is the quote attributed to an article?
It’s actually from an Apple press release, so I didn’t cite it. Plus, it’s been everyone on the Internet so I didn’t think anyone would question it.
I’ve added a footnote.
Cool - I hadn’t read that press release yet. Cheers for the heads-up.
A video review of the iPod mini by Mike Wendland, a columnist for the Detroit Free Press. The camera work is slightly suspect (mainly because I think he filmed it in one hand and demo’d the iPod mini in the other). Kinda interesting preview though -

these guys ( www.win-a-lot.co.uk ) are giving away a ipod min in txt to win comp. cool site worth a try :)
yeah, but you must admit that the mini is really just a toy for those who can afford it. the regular ipod is ALMOST justifiable.
