Interesting article Charles. I always thought the Gates/Jobs alliance strange, but the issues here make sense.
On a side note, regarding the recent financial turnaround of Apple since 1997, I bet the $150m invested by Gates is worth a stack load more by now (not that he needs the extra cash!)...
