iTunes 4 Windows
Hell has indeed frozen over - Apple have made iTunes 4.1 available to Windows users.
It’s building up to an interesting time in the music sharing sphere (?!). As competition to the iTunes Music Store, Dell and Napster are also rolling out their own music sharing services within the next few weeks.
It’ll be interesting to see how iTunes is received within the Wintel crowd. I’m confident that the product speaks for itself - the only problem might be making enough Window’s users aware of it.
There may also be a negative effect simply resulting from it being an Apple product, though the reverse of this argument doesn’t hold when you take into account the popularity of Microsoft software on the Mac (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.).

Steve Jobs has announced that over 1 million copies of iTunes for Windows have been downloaded since last Thursday, and a similar amount of songs have been bought through the iTunes Music Store. Previously, the average weekly download from the ITMS has been between 500,000 and 600,000.

I have just installed it on my Windows XP machine and I think it is a tidy bit of software.
Dump the Winamp, Microsoft Media Player and any other MP3 type players. iTunes is the one for me.
I think Apple users are very protective about their software and become miffed when Windows versions are released. I think the fact that the software is reengineered to work on Windows is testimony that the Apple software is a "canny bit of kit".
